With three children between the ages of 9 and 12 who are active in sports, a large extended family and multitude of friends, Erica and George Dudik see more than a fair share of traffic in and out of their home – and they wouldn’t have it any other way. “We love entertaining,” Erica shared. So much, in fact, that when they decided to build a new home, they designed it with entertaining large groups in mind. “The kitchen has a large eat-in area and huge island to accommodate groups of people, and we look forward to using the new space to host team parties, family birthday parties, church small groups, and our annual Labor Day bash.”
Flexibility and convenience were also important to the Dudiks during the loan process. Living in Middleville and working for Thornapple-Kellogg Schools, making multiple trips to the nearest credit union branch was going to be difficult with their busy schedules. With ECCU’s one-time close construction loan, they were able to complete the entire loan process online. “We worked with Laurie who is stationed out of the Kalamazoo office, but never met her in person,” said George. “It never felt impersonal. She was always readily available via phone and email and was great to work with.”
“Through email and modern technology we were able to handle the entire construction loan without the Dudiks having to come into the branch. Members nowadays are busy, particularly when you have two working parents and an active family, so we make the loan process as easy as possible, which members love!” says Laurie Brooks, mortgage loan originator at ECCU. “They can focus on what is important to them: building the perfect home.”
“Without hesitation, we’d recommend new home builders to go with ECCU for their construction loan,” Erica insists. “Their staff are friendly, competent, and extremely attentive. We really appreciated how patient and helpful they were as we worked on selling our home and transitioning into a construction loan.”
The Dudiks plan on moving into their new home in June and are already planning their first big gathering around the new kitchen island.
