Southwest Airlines Pilot Brian McIver joined ECCU when he tired of being treated as if he were a number at a big bank. “There were some issues and the service was non-local and impersonal. I like that I’m dealing with local people at the credit union – not wondering whom I’m talking to when I’m calling with a question,” Brian says.
With a career that takes him to cruising altitudes on domestic and international airways can make taking care of personal financial business a challenge. So when he received an e-mail from ECCU announcing a new mobile app that “had the capability of doing just about anything I wanted to do,” he signed on quickly. “I would definitely recommend it to other members,” Brian says.
Brian especially likes the ability to deposit a check by simply endorsing it and then snapping a picture of both sides. Mobile check deposits are just one of the new convenience features now available through the ECCU mobile banking app. It also provides free bill pay, customized text alerts, the ability to send and receive money by text or email via Popmoney™ as well as allowing for transfers between accounts and deposits into other ECCU members’ accounts.
And while the mobile app usually puts a branch office as close as his phone, Brian doesn’t mind visits to ECCU’s Portage branch. “The staff there are very personable, very accessible, and always polite. I appreciate that they are part of the local community,” he says.
